Bankrupt Atlanta-based law firm Morris Schneider Wittstadt LLC filed a lawsuit Thursday against the owner of the Beau Rivage Resort & Casino to recover more than $1.5 million a former partner allegedly embezzled from the firm and gambled at the Biloxi, Mississippi, casino.
The complaint accuses former partner Nathan Hardwick of taking funds illegally held in an MSW Interest on Lawyer Trust Account, or ILOTA, and gambling the money at Beau Rivage after the casino pulled his credit. MSW and related entities filed for bankruptcy over the summer amid mounting legal problems.
