76 Galway people declared bankrupt since 2014 – Galway Bay FM

Galway Bay fm newsroom 76 people were declared bankrupt across Galway over the past two years.

New statistics from the Insolvency Service of Ireland show that from 2014 to 2016, there were a total of 171 debt solutions issues across the city and county.

95 of these were approved by creditors or the courts, and included Debt Relief Notices, Debt Settlements, Personal Insolvencies and bankruptcies.

The ISI says the number of bankruptcy cases across Ireland continues to rise, but there has been a minor decrease in the number of arrangements issued.

It says this, in part, reflects the number of cases currently before the courts seeking reviews of proposals rejected by creditors.
