A BUILDING supervisor who was assaulted at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital by an employee has been awarded more than $800,000 in damages, but is unlikely to see any money because his attacker is bankrupt.
District Court Judge Rauf Soulio awarded former gyprocker and building supervisor Andrew Kent $815,624 in compensation for past, current and future losses after he was punched in the face by Shane Redhead in January 2012.
Mr Redhead, who is now bankrupt, called his boss and said he was on his way to the construction site and wanted to meet him.
(Mr Redhead) wished to confront (Mr Kent) regarding allegations he had apparently made about the treatment of his wife, Judge Soulio said in his decision.
