Retired solicitor Brian O’Donnell exits bankruptcy – Irish Legal News

Retired Dublin solicitor and former property tycoon Brian ODonnell exited bankruptcy yesterday, The Irish Times reports.

Ms Justice Costello formally discharged him from bankruptcy at a sitting of the High Court yesterday.

Mr ODonnell and his wife, Mary Patricia, were judged bankrupt by the High Court in August 2013 in a finding confirmed by the Supreme Court in February 2015.

Bank of Ireland applied to have the pair declared bankrupt after they failed to satisfy a 71.57 million judgment against them over unpaid loans.

Mr ODonnells bankruptcy was extended in July 2016 by following a successful application by his official assignee in bankruptcy, Chris Lehane, for alleged non-cooperation.
