An air hostess has been declared bankrupt after she refused to pay over 200 parking fines as part of a “personal crusade”.
Carly Mackie, 28, from Dundee, received the parking fines for persistently leaving her Mini in a residents-only area outside her parents’ flat.
Mackie ignored the tickets, insisting they were illegal and unenforceable in Scotland, and ran up a bill of £18,500.
She also refused to pay for a parking permit to allow her to park legally.
She was ordered to pay £24,000 after she lost her case when private firm Vehicle Control Services took her to court last year. Mackie has now been declared bankrupt, with debts totalling £37,546.84.
