Tory benefits minister Esther McVey is protesting against a campaign to regulate crack cocaine gambling machines.
The controversial Liverpool-born MP strongly objected to plans to limit the maximum stakes on Fixed Odds Betting Terminals (FOBT) to £2, according to the Times .
The Work and Pensions Secretary made her views known in the face of critics who said the machines cause crime and family breakdown.
FOBT, dubbed the crack cocaine of gambling , allows stakes of up to £100 every 20 seconds on casino games like roulette.
