The inevitable eulogies are flowing thick and fast for former corporate titan John Elliott, with Treasurer Josh Frydenberg and newly returned Victorian Liberal leader Matthew Guy taking pole position.
But most testimonials have conveniently ignored Elliotts criminal past, instead focusing on his larger than life personality, leadership of the Carlton Football Club and brief time as a potential prime minister.
