Hobart-based appliance store Elite Appliances has been placed into liquidation, catching both staff and industry insiders by surprise.
The closure was confirmed through an Australian Investment and Securities Commission statement earlier this week.
Hobart-based financial consultancy Apex Advisory has been appointed as liquidator.
“Notice is given that at a general meeting of the members of the Company held on 30 June 2025, it was resolved that the Company be wound up and that Adam Johnston be appointed liquidator(s),” the ASIC statement read.
