A national trucking company has been plunged into liquidation after 35 years in business, leaving about 200 employees without jobs.
XL Express went in administration in June with administrators FTI Consulting appointed to review the company’s finances and assess its viability.
The Brisbane-based company was founded in 1990 and expanded with depot and facility locations in Sydney, Melbourne, Adelaide, Perth and Darwin.
It is reported it has an estimated $42 million in debts.
The company also operated regional depots in Newcastle, Cairns, Townsville and Mackay.
