Among the reasons cited in the filings, creditors such as companies from the Equatorial Energia Group—operating in the states of Rio Grande do Sul, Amapá, and Alagoas—allege that Oi violated the terms of the restructuring plan approved in April 2024.
“The recovering company [Oi] has defaulted on the installment due on June 25, 2025, owed to the creditors Companhia de Eletricidade do Amapá (CEA) and Equatorial Alagoas Distribuidora de Energia S.A., as well as on the payment due to Companhia Estadual de Energia Elétrica (CEEE-D) on July 11, 2025,” attorneys for Equatorial said in a court filing dated July 30.
