Syracuse, N.Y. – Liverpool-based Metro Mattress Corp. is seeking permission in bankruptcy court to close all its remaining stores, saying it does not have the “financial wherewithal” to continue operating.
The bedding retailer was operating a chain of 70 stores in New York and New England when it filed for protection from creditors under Chapter 11 of U.S. Bankruptcy Law on Sept. 4, 2024, listing assets of $8.9 million and debts of $23.7 million.
