Former F1 star Robert Doornbos had the world at his feet and was once one of the most promising young drivers on the circuit. He made his F1 debut mid-season in 2005, stepping in to partner Christijan Albers at Minardi. He raced in eight Grands Prix with the team before joining Red Bull Racing in 2006 as a reserve/test driver, later replacing Christian Klein for the final three races. Doornbos wouldn’t race in F1 again after 2006 and eventually found success in American Champ Car racing for Minardi.
