A once popular and long established Lake District hotel has been placed in creditors’ voluntary liquidation.
Joint liquidators have been appointed to handle the affairs of the Scafell Hotel Ltd at Rosthwaite in Borrowdale.
According to a notice in the London Gazette Daryl Warwick and Ed Connell, both of Armstrong Watson, James Watson House, Montgomery Way, Rosehill, Carlisle, have been appointed as joint liquidators.
In October 2023 The Keswick Reminder reported that the landmark hotel had been put up for sale with offers in the region of £2.75m being sought.
