Simon Gready, who volunteers at Burnham Tourist Information centre near Brean Sands, said he was concerned the news would impact the local economy.
“It’s a shame because it’s going to be less of an offering in this area now for when people come to visit.
“It’s going to have an effect on the local economy, people aren’t going to be spending as much money,” he added.
Unity Holidays, which owns the site the theme park is on, said its caravan park continued to operate as normal and Brean Play, Brean Splash and Brean Gym would reopen as planned for the 2026 season.
