Eddie Bauer LLC has filed for bankruptcy.
The operator of Eddie Bauer stores in the United States and Canada, and a licensee of the Eddie Bauer brand, filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy in the United States Bankruptcy Court for the District of New Jersey on Monday.
“This is not an easy decision, and we are grateful to the retail company’s associates and customers for their loyalty and trust,” Marc Rosen, CEO of Catalyst Brands, said in a news release. Catalyst Brands owns Eddie Bauer LLC.
Catalyst Brands is conducting liquidation sales at all of its Eddie Bauer stores in the U.S. and Canada while continuing to pursue a sale of all or part of its store operations.
