Amid a failed bid to raise £20m in funding and claims that it had been unable to get the appropriate certification from the UK’s air regulator, Ecojet, Green Britain Group’s celebrated electric airline, appears to have had its wings clipped before its first commercial flight could taxi for takeoff.
Edinburgh-based Opus Restucturing LLP has stepped in after Edinburgh Sheriff Court received a petition for the business to be wound up, Opus having appointed Paul Dounis and Mark Harper as provisional liquidators.
Opus said the move came after a “voluntary liquidation initiated by the company’s board” and is now handling matters for the startup venture, which had no material assets.
