Bluesfest in Byron Bay has been cancelled less than three weeks before it was due to be held, and placed into liquidation owing $5.7 million to creditors.
Poor ticket sales are widely believed to be the main factor behind the cancellation of the 36-year-old festival, which had been due to take place in the northern NSW coastal town over the Easter weekend, with a reformed Split Enz as the headline act.
