Native Instruments (NI) has entered formal insolvency.
The German company, which has been part of the wider Soundwide group alongside Plugin Alliance and Brainworx since 2022, entered preliminary insolvency in January.
Now, according to a statement from NI CEO Nick Williams, the company has commenced its transition from “preliminary insolvency” into “formal insolvency”, described as “expected steps in the process we are working through”.
Williams said the company is currently in “an active process to find new shareholders” and that there has been “strong interest from multiple parties with deep roots in audio and technology”. This suggests the company could continue following an acquisition deal.
