Dutch online furniture and home products retailer Fonq has been declared bankrupt. The group, which also owns the Naduvi platform, had applied for court protection from creditors just over a week ago.
Customers have already been unable to place orders via the website for the past few days and those with outstanding orders may have lost their money, according to the Telegraaf.
Fonq was founded in 2003 and operated webshops in the Netherlands, Belgium and Germany. In 2024, it expanded by acquiring rival Naduvi.
The company reported a loss of more than €14 million in 2023, and struggled to secure further financing, with shareholders stepping in after a bank declined further lending.
