Zappie previously boasted of being the UK’s fastest‑growing telecoms company with co-founder Jamie Pidgley saying turnover had reached £2million by the end of 2023 after 12 months of trading.
But now liquidators have been appointed for Zappie Communications Ltd, described by former apprentice telecoms engineer Mr Pidgley as the sales arm of the group, owing £82,682 to 25 staff members.
The business, which had been based at Mountbatten House, in Grosvenor Square, also owes £324,000 to HMRC, nearly £50,000 to its landlord Clockwise based in London, £591 to Contact Web Ltd based in Southampton, and £656 to self-storage firm Shurgard Southampton.
