A UK hotel that was once on sale for £750,000 has collapsed into liquidation. The demise of The Martello Hotel was published on the Gazette website on April 17. The former hotel and venue function situated east of Hull City Centre was known for its hospitable staff and good value.
The cause of its collapse is not known; however, it comes amid financial challenges across the wider hospitality sector. Michael Paul Roome of Leading Business Services and Steven Hodgson of Clough Corporate Solutions Limited were appointed as joint liquidators on April 10, according to the public record.
