The office’s website said the company was established in 2021 (actually incorporated in April 2022) “solely to introduce the highly successful Planet Fitness franchise model to New Zealand”.
It said that initial clubs were set to open in November 2025.
“The fitness centre industry in this market generates circa $460 million in annual revenue and is now forecast to grow by around 2% a year as it benefits from a rebound in consumer confidence and resumes its growth trajectory,” the website says.
“The Lightship Enterprises team identified the New Zealand market as ideal to introduce the Planet Fitness high value, low cost model, and created Castle Point Fitness to develop and manage the clubs.”
