Five UK travel firms have ceased trading in 2026 so far and have now cancelled all bookings.
As the price of jet fuel continues to rise following the Iran conflict and international travel hit with uncertainty thanks to travel warnings on top of soaring costs, there could yet be more companies pushed to breaking point before the summer is out.
When holiday businesses do collapse, bookings are cancelled and holidaymakers lose their trip and their money, unless their firm was covered by ATOL protection.
