According to the latest data from the German Federal Statistical Office (Destatis), consumer insolvencies in Germany rose slightly in February 2026 compared to the same month a year earlier.
Consumer Insolvencies Up 0.6 Percent
In February 2026, the number of consumer insolvencies increased by 0.6 percent relative to February 2025. Earlier figures for January 2026 showed 6,112 consumer insolvencies, which was also 0.6 percent higher than in the same month of the previous year.
