Seattle Public Schools is staring down an $87 million deficit — and Superintendent Ben Shuldiner isn’t sugarcoating it.
“We’re still bankrupt.”
If the district can’t close the gap in the next 10 months, they’ll be forced to borrow from the state. And when that happens, Seattle essentially hands over the keys to its own school district.
