Mark Roberts Motion Control is being closed down after entering into liquidation on 22 May.
The liquidation announcement came less than two months after MRMC was sold by Nikon to a new company set up by Blandford Capital, a private investment office.
MRMC had a strong brand and technical pedigree, and was actively promoting new ranges such as the Cinebot line as recently as NAB 2026.
The company was founded in 1966 by engineer Mark Roberts to service and upgrade animation rostrum tables, before evolving into a specialist in robotic motion‑control camera rigs for film and TV. It was acquired by Nikon in 2016, which integrated MRMC’s robotic motion control with Nikon imaging technologies and sales channels.
