Long-standing local store has remained in business while several others have been shuttered across Canada; local employee expecting closure to be ‘very fast’
Barrie’s last remaining Toys “R” Us store is winding down its operations and liquidating stock, although the final closing date is still unclear.
The Park Place Toys “R” Us store was closed in 2025, however the Bayfield Street location in the city’s north end had remained open despite ‘Store Closing’ and ‘Everything Must Go’ signs having been displayed on its windows in January 2025.
Those signs were removed just over a year later, but have now been placed back in the windows once again.
