St Davids Distillery wound up after action brought by HMRC

St Davids Distillery Limited was ordered to be wound up by the High Court on July 29 following a petition by HM Revenue and Customs (HMRC).

The company, which is registered at Nine Wells in St Davids, is now being handled by the Official Receiver and a liquidator has been appointed.

A winding-up petition is a legal process by which a creditor asks the court to close a company and liquidate its assets to pay outstanding debts.

Following a petition brought by HMRC, which said it was a creditor of the company, a High Court hearing was held on July 29. 

The court granted the petition in this case, resulting in a compulsory liquidation order for St Davids Distillery Limited.
