A draft resolution being circulated by the Donald Trump-installed board currently leading the Kennedy Center is warning that the beloved cultural institution will be bankrupt and face “certain fiscal collapse within weeks” unless Trump’s name is added to the building.
A federal judge ruled in May that Trump’s name had to be removed from the building because it was added without congressional authorization, as required by law.
Lawyers Norm Eisen and Nathaniel Zelinsky from the Washington Litigation Group, who were brought on by Rep. Joyce Beatty of Ohio to fight against Trump’s naming push, slammed the resolution in a statement.
