A chartered accountant who fraudulently diverted more than £40,000 from her Cambridge employer has been jailed after a court activated part of a previous suspended prison sentence for a previous fraud.
Kirsty Lynette Payne was sentenced to 10 months in prison for the latest fraud offence.
The court also activated 18 months of a previous 20-month prison sentence, which had been suspended for 24 months on 4 April 2024.
The 18 months activated from that earlier sentence is to run concurrently with the 10-month sentence for the latest fraud.
Payne’s imprisonment follows her admission that she processed an inflated payment while working in a senior finance role at Cambridge-based Marshall Fleet Solutions.
