A “family-run” haulage company open for almost half a century has plunged into liquidation in a fresh blow to the freight industry. CVH Transport Services, based in Gwent, Wales, appointed liquidators on September 16, with a formal notice posted in the London Gazette on September 17.
The business has entered Creditors Voluntary Liquidation, an insolvency procedure usually taken when directors seek to close the business. There is no news on how the announcement could affect staffing or any job cuts at this early stage, but it is yet another hammer blow to the freight sector after a series of business losses in 2026.
