A total of 1,946 corporate insolvencies were recorded in the UK, in August, marking a 0.6 per cent increase from July but a three per cent decrease compared to August 2025, accountants Azets report.
At the same time, the region’s insolvency practitioner trade body R3 Eastern reports a fall in new company registrations in East Anglia from April to June of 2026 – suggesting business confidence is subdued.
