Bluesfest’s touring arm has entered liquidation, six months after the collapse of the companies behind the Byron Bay music festival. Its liquidator says creditors are unlikely to see a return.
Bluesfest Tours Pty Ltd entered creditors’ voluntary liquidation on September 24, according to an ASIC notice, with Worrells principal Jason Bettles appointed as liquidator.
Bluesfest Tours booked artists for the festival as well as other gigs, with acts including Erykah Badu, The Wailers, Marcus King and Kenny Wayne Shepherd among those booked for Australian tours.
Several Bluesfest Tours promoted sideshows were initially expected to proceed despite the festival’s cancellation, before a number were later cancelled.
