A “compulsive fraudster” who ran businesses including travel firms while banned as a company director has been jailed for four years.
Darren Anderson, 43, of Bassingfield Lane, Gamston, Nottingham, who went by several aliases, caused losses of more than £200,000 to other businesses and individuals through a string of offences across 2022 and 2023.
The UK Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) welcomed the prison sentence handed down at Nottingham Crown Court on September 24, adding Anderson had attempted to gain an Atol licence for Zulu Travel Services while disqualified as a director.
The Atol application was not progressed as he failed to pay the fee, the regulator added.
