A UK recycling firm plunged into liquidation, resulting in the loss of more than 600 jobs. A recent statement from the Insolvency Service gave an update on Unimetals Recycling Ltd, which went into liquidation last year. It had 28 sites and was headquartered in Stratford-upon-Avon. A statement of affairs for Unimetals Group Limited, one of the corporate entities associated with the business, revealed that its creditors totalled £85,130,185.70.
Sims Group Holdings, whose UK base was taken over by Unimetals in 2024, was owed £62,771,539.52, while another related Unimetals company was owed £22,235,746.55. Additionally, Deloitte was owed £24,915.60, and JP Morgan was owed £769.55. However, the company’s liquidation made the headlines…
