Australian caravan manufacturer Essential Caravans has entered into voluntary administration, after announcing the closure of its Melbourne factory and moving production overseas.
Essential Caravans appointed Paul Allen and Glenn Franklin of PKF Melbourne as administrators on October 21 after announcing it would consolidate its Somerton manufacturing operations with fellow caravan manufacturer Design RV in Pakenham.
Essential has manufactured more than 7,000 caravans since 2015 and had started moving production to China.
