Barbeques Galore has appointed Grant Thornton as voluntary administrators as the retailer grapples with liquidity challenges, with receivers now tasked with restructuring or potentially selling the business.
The Australian barbeque and outdoor lifestyle retailer operates 68 company-owned stores and 27 franchise locations nationwide and employs around 500 staff across its retail and operational network.
Gift cards will still be accepted, however customers must spend an additional $2 for every $1 of gift card value used. For example, using a $50 gift card will require a total purchase of $150, meaning the customer must pay $100 in new funds after the gift card is applied.
