An insolvency expert warns that the lender behind an embattled apartment development in Onehunga is using voluntary administration to “end-run” a liquidation and prevent creditors from understanding what could be won back with a legal claim.
An end-run is an American football play, in which the ball carrier runs wide around the defensive line to avoid being tackled. The lender, Alvarium, has strongly denied any such play.
