Weald Refrigeration has ceased trading after almost six decades, with restructuring specialists Opus Restructuring appointed to oversee the company’s voluntary liquidation.
The East Sussex manufacturer was known for producing made-to-measure refrigeration equipment, including bottle coolers, wine coolers, freezers and refrigerated drawers.
Over its long history, Weald developed a customer base spanning bar designers, catering equipment manufacturers, restaurants, hotel groups and fit-out companies.
The closure comes just two years after the business relocated its manufacturing operation from Sevenoaks in Kent, where it had been based for four decades, to a purpose-built facility near Lewes.
