Two days before cancelling the 2026 Byron Bay Bluesfest and lodging a liquidation notice with the Australian Securities and Investments Commission (ASIC), the festival’s proprietor, Peter Noble, was seeking insurance to cover the event, Crikey can reveal.
This occurred three weeks before the four-day event was scheduled to kick off, and ASIC filings show that ticket revenue had all but disappeared from Bluesfest Enterprises Pty Ltd.
“He was told to fuck off,” one industry veteran told Crikey.
