A Western Australian distillery has stunned fans with a dramatic comeback, winning three top honours at a prestigious gin awards after going into voluntary administration last year.
Many assumed Old Young’s Distillery in Swan Valley would cease operation following voluntary administration in September, but founder James Young had other plans.
On June 2, the distillery won Best Gin in the World and Best Gin & Tonic in the World at the 2026 ADI International Spirits Awards in California.
James told Yahoo Lifestyle the win was “such a thrill” after one of the darkest periods of his life.
