By industry, the most insolvencies so far this year have been in trade and construction. This is followed by the gastronomy sector, where the situation is worsening according to KSV. This development is based on a mix of causes, primarily generated from high operating costs, a weak overall economic situation, and structural problems such as low profit margins and strong competition. At the same time, opening hours are being shortened due to staff shortages or economic reasons. Necessary revenues then have to be generated in a shorter time, which ultimately leads to financial difficulties again and again.
