A former Tory Kent MP who was jailed for sexual assault has now filed for bankruptcy and is working as a builder.
Charlie Elphicke, who previously represented Dover in parliament, was locked up for two years in 2020 after he was convicted of sexually assaulting two women.
Now living in London, he has declared himself bankrupt, according to court documents.
A public notice lists the bankruptcy order date as April 13, 2026.
It also lists him as self employed and working for Brett Builders. Brett was his given name at birth.
As reported in The Sunday Times, the former lawyer has forfeited control of his assets and placed them in the hands of the courts.
