Swedish power-to-fuel developer Liquid Wind has been declared bankrupt, dealing a blow to a company that had positioned itself as one of the leading Nordic developers of e-methanol projects targeting the shipping sector.
The Gothenburg-based company entered bankruptcy proceedings on May 11, with lawyer Lars Melin of Swedish law firm Styrks appointed as trustee.
Liquid Wind said its operations, including subsidiaries in Sweden, Denmark and Finland, are now up for sale. Employees have already met with representatives from the bankruptcy administration team handling the process.
