The childcare regulator has ordered Edge Early Learning in Charnwood in Canberra’s Belconnen area to close for three months.
The notice of suspension, issued by Children’s Education and Care Assurance (CECA), comes about a month after an Edge Early Learning centre in nearby Higgins was forced to shut immediately over its response to a serious medical incident involving a child.
The reasons behind the Charnwood centre’s notice of suspension remain unknown, with its closure due to begin on September 3.
In a statement, CECA said:
“Edge has the right to appeal the decision and is legally required to communicate the suspension to families.
“Under administration, the administrator can also exercise the right to appeal.”
