Elon Musk has warned Americans the United States will go bankrupt unless they commit to using AI and robots.
The Tesla CEO, 55, made the dire prediction as national debt continues to climb.
Appearing on the Dwarkesh Podcast, Musk said, “We are 1,000 percent going to go bankrupt as a country and fail as a country, without AI and robots. Nothing else will solve the national debt.”
On August 18, America’s national debt officially crossed $40 trillion for the first time, with Treasury figures putting total public debt outstanding at just over $40.05 trillion.
Musk believes that using more AI and robot labor would boost productivity and reduce costs.
Musk added, “In the absence of AI…
