Beleaguered English National League club Morecambe have been plunged into further financial uncertainty after being hit with a winding up petition.
The petition was filed on March 16 by KPM Groundworks Ltd., a construction company which, according to its social media, specialises in “all types of groundworks (and) landscaping” as well as “sports ground maintenance (and) renovations”.
A winding up petition can be filed in court by a creditor to force a company into compulsory liquidation, ultimately closing it in order to pay debts.
