A former Manchester United midfielder who turned his back on a millionaire lifestyle to become a priest has declared himself bankrupt.
Sir Alex Ferguson brought Phil Mulryne to United as a teenager but he struggled to get a game alongside stars like Ryan Giggs and David Beckham.
The midfielder went on to a successful career at Norwich where he was reputed to earn £500,000-a-year and dated model Nicola Chapman.
After he hung up his boots he surprised former playing pals in 2009 when he announced he was training to become a Catholic priest.
He embarked on a two-year philosophy degree in Rome and then a four-year philosophy degree before becoming a Dominican priest.
