Former Supreme Court judge Justice Rajesh Bindal has been appointed Chairperson of the National Company Law Appellate Tribunal (NCLAT), bringing an end to the months-long wait for a regular head of the country’s key corporate appellate institution.
The appointment was confirmed by Bindal to Bar & Bench on November 5, 2026. Bindal, who retired from the Supreme Court on April 15, 2026, previously served as Chief Justice of the Allahabad High Court before his elevation to the apex court in February 2023.
