A former Lufthansa steward has been convicted of ruthlessly dismembering a wealthy businessman and burning his remains so that he could steal his identity, pay off £275,000 of gambling debts and flee to China.
Ming Jiang lured his friend Yang Liu, 36, to his flat in Beswick, Manchester, and murdered him in October last year. He dissected his body in the bath with what was believed to be a saw. The victims head and three of his limbs were never found and his exact cause of death remains unknown.
Jiang, 43, who now faces life in jail, showed no emotion as he was convicted of murder yesterday after a two-week trial at Minshull Street crown court.
